Barcelona attacker Lionel Messi has been ruled out for between six to eight weeks with a torn hamstring muscle.
The Ballon d'Or holder, who recently returned to action from a thigh complaint, sustained the latest blow in Barca's 4-1 win at Betis on Sunday.
Messi went for tests on Monday to determine the extent of the injury, with the results confirming a lengthy layoff for the Argentine.
He is therefore set to miss matches against Granada, Ajax, Celtic, Villarreal and Getafe, as well as both legs of the Copa del Rey duel with Cartagena.
