Victor Valdes has divine respect for injured Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi, calling the Argentine "God".
Messi faces six to eight weeks out with a hamstring injury sustained in Barca's 4-1 win over Real Betis at the weekend.
It is the third time he has been sidelined this season, and Valdes admits the Spanish champions rely heavily on the Ballon d'Or holder.
Valdes is quoted as saying by Marca: "He is God, the best there is and he always will be, for what he has given to this team and what he has made me experience as his team-mate.

"To me he seems sad. By defect we players are selfish and we can't understand it when we can't play.
"Knowing him and the winner he is I have no doubt what he will now put into recovering, in fact he is already doing so."
Messi has scored 14 goals in 16 outings this campaign, while he netted 46 times in 32 La Liga games last term.
